Keen for kids, but he will not let me

I WANT TO BE A MOTHER

I'M desperate for a baby - but my boyfriend has destroyed my confidence by telling everyone that I'll make a terrible mum.

According to him I'm too selfish and vain to give birth as I have no patience or empathy.

He's even talked about having a full vasectomy so that there are no "slip ups" in our bed in future.

This is hurtful. Maybe I have been self-indulgent in the past, but I believe that I can change and become a better person. I think a child of my own would challenge and ground me.

He and I have a complicated relationship. Two years ago, after five years together, he left me for another woman. He got her pregnant and she had a little boy.

However, the relationship went sour after he refused to do his fair share of parenting. They split and he came back to me.
