THE head of the Met Police has admitted the force has "racists, misogynists and homophobes" in its ranks.
Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley accepted it had harboured rogue officers due to "management" and "cultural" failings.
He vowed to overhaul the force after a review by Baroness Casey of Blackstock exposed a "broken and corrupt" organisation which tolerated abusive behaviour and failed rape victims.
She spent a year studying Britain's biggest force after murderer Wayne Couzens and serial rapist David Carrick were found among its ranks.
Sir Mark said: "I absolutely accept the diagnosis that Louise Casey comes up with. We have racists, misogynists and homophobes in the organisation. We have systemic failings, management failings and cultural failings." But he refused to accept his force was "institutionally" racist as the term was "politicised".
