The star explained: "My mother had no interest in cooking. I grew up in Swaziland and we&nbsp;had a cook, who [Mum] taught to make a different roast six days a week.
"Monday was chicken.&nbsp;Tuesday lamb. Wednesday pork.&nbsp;Thursday beef. On Friday night we had fish, the&nbsp;only thing not roasted. Saturdays were a variation of roast, Sunday cold cuts.
"It was very regimental. Anything save roasts were jokingly described by my father as 'foreign muck."
Richard added of festive food: "I have an incredibly sweet tooth and eat a full-size Christmas pudding once a month.
"In January, the shops are literally throwing them out in the sales, so I have a supply in my pantry!"
