A survey found one in 10 likes to brighten up their day with arias from The Magic Flute and Carmen.
But their favourite is Pavarotti singing Nessun Dorma, used as the theme for the World Cup in Italy in 1990. Rock was the most popular with workers including&nbsp;builders, plumbers, carpenters, roofers and electricians in the Toolstation poll.
Opera, classical and jazz also featured in a nod to Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse's Posh Scaffolders sketch.
Greg Richardson, of Toolstation, said: "The musical tastes of tradespeople are as&nbsp;varied as their professions. The findings show 22% like head banging to heavy metal, while 10% like opera.
"Whatever the tune, music seems to put most trades in a good mood."
A quarter of the 2,000 workers polled said that listening to music made them more productive.
