TWO women are among the favourites to be Scotland's next chief constable.

UK policing's second biggest job is advertised today and retiring Chief Constable Sir Iain Livingstone will leave the £232,000-a-year post by August.

The new chief will be the fourth since the single force was launched in 2013.

The appointment will be made by the Scottish Police Authority and approved by new First Minister Humza Yousaf.
