FALKIRK dished out a defeat on lan McCall's three-year anniversary as he admitted Thistle never turned up to the party.
Rumarn Burrell and Gary Oliver struck either side of the break as the Jags bid to lift this trophy for the first time was quashed in round three.
Thistle fans ended the first period booing off McCall's side after a limp half in which John McGlynn's Bairns should have had the tie won.
Boss McCall, who returned to Maryhill three years to the day, said: "We literally had 11 players not playing and six players who didn't even travel with us. So I would take the blame for that.
"But take nothing away from Falkirk because they definitely deserved it. They played some good stuff and we never got going.
