VINYL records have become part of the typical shopping basket for the first time since 1992.
They joined 16 items added to the everyday goods and services used by statisticians to track prices and work out the rate of inflation.
More than 6.5million records are now sold a year.
The format's return to the typical shopping list for the first time in 32 years was helped by Taylor Swift's 1989 (Taylor's Version), the biggest-selling LP of 2023.
