FAMILIES risk being hit by more summer travel misery after Ryanair's Spanish cabin crew voted to strike.
Unions have announced industrial action over six days. Crew are due to strike for three days from June 24, then on June 30 and July 1 and 2.
The walk-out threatens to impact the budget airline's recovery and cause disruption for passengers looking forward to summer holidays. It comes after weeks of travel chaos caused by staff shortages at airlines and airports, with Ryanair rival easyJet among the worst hit.
A Ryanair spokesman said: "We are pleased to have reached a collective agreement with CCOO, Spain's largest union, delivering improvements for Spanish-based cabin crew and reinforcing Ryanair's commitment to the welfare of its cabin crew.
"Recent announcements by the much smaller USO and SITCPLA unions are a distraction from their own failures to deliver agreements after three years of negotiations and we believe their strike calls will not be supported by our Spanish crews."
Meanwhile, 35,000 people have had to wait longer than 10 weeks for their passport to be issued, according to Home Office figures for the first three months of the year. Labour's Yvette Cooper MP branded the Home Office a "shambles" over the delays.
