STUART HOGG and Finn Russell have been left out of the 40-strong Scotland squad to tour South America this summer - but only to rest up and not as a punishment.
The talismanic duo were involved in a late-night drinking session which broke team protocols during the recent Six Nations.
But with fellow party-goers Darcy Graham, Ali Price, Sam Johnson and Sione Tuipulotu named in the squad, Scotland coach Gregor Townsend says he left skipper Hogg, playmaker Russell and Chris Harris out to give them a well-earned break after starring for the Lions last summer then having gruelling seasons with their club sides.
And Toony says he hopes to see Hogg back leading his country for the Autumn Tests - but wasn't making any promises.
