OUTLANDER star Sam Heughan admitted he is "jealous" of the time-traveling fantasy drama's upcoming spin-off series.
The Scottish actor, 42, plays Highland warrior Jamie Fraser in the show, with its sixth season recently coming to an end.
During an interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Heughan was quizzed about rumours of a spin-off and described it as "far advanced".
He joked he'd love to make an appearance but it is expected to be a prequel, centring on the lives of his character's parents.
Heughan said: "I knew it was in the wings. I didn't realise it was so far advanced.
"I saw Diana [Gabaldon] this weekend and she was writing furiously. I know they're really excited, I'm excited for them, and I'm slightly jealous as well.
"I wonder if I can get in there." Next year, Heughan will be seen on the big screen when he stars in Valentine's rom-com It's All Coming Back To Me, slated to be released in cinemas on February 10, 2023.
