All arms of the state were deployed upon the announcement of Her Majesty's passing, including a vast security operation by police forces across the country as unprecedented crowds gather to mourn her loss.
The monarch's body was placed in the ballroom at her beloved Balmoral estate where she died peacefully on Thursday, and where staff were able to pay their respects yesterday.
Her coffin is next headed for Edinburgh and then on to London, after being met at RAF Northolt by the Prime Minister and her Cabinet on Tuesday.
