NHS STAFF REJECT 5% PAY OFFER

SCOTLAND'S health workers are preparing for strike action after overwhelmingly rejecting the Scottish Government's five per cent pay deal.

Thousands of workers across every sector of the health service have delivered a resounding message to the SNP government that they are not prepared to accept a pay deal which falls so far below the rate of inflation.

All four health service unions the RCN, Unite, GMB and UNISON voted to reject the Agenda for Change pay offer.

Some 97 per cent of those who voted in the GMB ballot rejected the deal, while the RCN also returned more than 90 per cent along with 89 per cent of the Unite membership and 83 per cent of UNISON members.
