A CAMPAIGN to erect a statue of Celtic legend Tommy Gemmell in his home town has raised more than £50,000.
Gemmell, one of Celtic's Lisbon Lions who won the European Cup there in 1967, passed away aged 73 in 2017.
The Tommy Gemmell Community Project has set a target of £80,000 for the memorial in Craigneuk, Lanarkshire, but has already raised £50,000 through donations and events.
A sponsored walk was held last month which saw participants travel from Craigneuk to Celtic Park.
