A GANGLAND boss who hid drugs in woodland has been jailed for almost six years.
Ryan Ferguson was caught during a large scale probe shortly after being released from prison for organised crime offences.
In cracked Encrochat messages he called himself "Titanium Otter" while he directed the illegal operation.
In June 2020, a total of &pound;142,098 of high purity cocaine was found hidden under moss in woods at Glen Glass in Easter Ross.
A further &pound;350,000 of the drug was discovered after two men linked to Ferguson were stopped in separate raids.
In 2021, Ferguson was captured by hidden cameras, on a motocross bike, appearing to make a drug pick-up from a stash site" near Alness.
Ferguson, 30, was held in June last year after landing in Glasgow following a holiday in Thailand.
He was yesterday jailed for five years and eight months by judge Lord Clark, having earlier pled guilty to a charge of being involved in serious organised crime between June 2019 and September 2021.
Ferguson, of Inverness, was also hit with a serious crime prevention order.
The High Court in Glasgow earlier heard he was previously jailed twice for drug trafficking and money laundering.
