She wrote: "Our sweet, loving and talented Eric passed away in his sleep over the weekend. It&nbsp;brought him great joy to know that for decades, his music touched so many and will be his lasting legacy." Eric found fame in the 70s as lead singer of the Raspberries, alongside Wally Bryson, Dave Smalley and Jim Bonfanti.
The band, whose hits included Go All the Way and Let's Pretend, split in 1975. Eric enjoyed success as a solo artist with hits including Never Gonna Fall In Love Again. Hungry Eyes became a huge hit in 1987 after it was used in the film Dirty Dancing.
He later went on to join Ringo Starr &amp; His All-Starr Band. Eric is survived by Amy and children Kathryn and Clayton, who he shared with second wife Susan Brown.
