HEROIN DEALER MACHETE HORROR

A MACHETE convicted attack on drug dealer near his home has sparked fears of a renewed gang war.

Edmond Reid, who has links to cocaine kingpin Mark Richardson, was set on in Edinburgh's Inch area.

It's understood Reid, 36, escaped injury as police in the area intervened and his attacker fled.

The incident on Saturday night followed a blade attack on an associate of another drug baron and Richardson rival last week.

The last feud between the pair saw T2 Trainspotting star Bradley Welsh gunned down outside his New Town address in 2019.

Reid was jailed for three years in 2015 for his role in a drug gang after cops bugged a van to bust a trafficking network.

Sources said he was the victim of a "targeted gangland attack" by a man in a balaclava with a machete on Saturday but got lucky as police were nearby.

One insider said: "Four police officers witnessed it and intervened in the attack.
