CHARLES III received a welcome fit for a King at Brandenburg Gate as he returned to Germany for the first time as monarch yesterday.
The royal and the Queen Consort were greeted by Germany's president Frank-Walter Steinmeier and wife Elke Budenbender in Berlin for the state visit.
Following the countries' national anthems, the King inspected a guard of honour, before meeting crowds, some with Union flags.
Charles shared jokes with locals and also in his speech at the state banquet last night. The King and Queen Consort touched down in Berlin around 2pm after the axing of their France trip.
They were greeted by a 21-gun salute and a fly-past by two fighter jets after they emerged from the RAF Voyager.
Two Typhoon jets escorted the plane carrying the royals as it approached Berlin-Brandenburg Government Airport.
In his address at Berlin's presidential palace, Charles thanked the president and his wife for their kindness during visits to Berlin in 2019 and 2020.
