THE daughter of Trainspotting star Ewan McGregor is to follow in her famous father's footsteps with a lead role in a new drama.
Esther-Rose McGregor, 20, the second eldest of Ewan's five children, yesterday shared a trailer for new eight-part coming-of-age series High School, which is set to launch on Amazon Freevee in October.
Esther, who runs her own business as a tattoo artist and also works as a model, thanked twin Canadian indie music stars Tegan and Sara for a "life-changing experience" after she was cast in the show which is based on their best-selling memoir.
She said: "Such a surreal moment to be sharing a lil sneak peek of High School! Special thank you to @teganandsara for including me in such a life-changing experience. Love you."
Esther recently had a cameo role alongside her dad in his Disney+ Star Wars spin-off Obi-Wan Kenobi. Crieffborn Ewan said of his daughter's role: "I'm sure everybody thinks she got the job because of me but really she didn't.
"She auditioned for the role. She was just brilliant. You don't really know with your kids, until that moment when I was acting with her and it felt really normal and natural." Ewan has already filmed alongside eldest daughter Clara, 26.
