Josh King, a first offender, pled guilty to drink-driving and was fined &pound;800 and banned for a year yesterday.
King, 21, was nabbed after police noticed "damage and noise" as he pulled into a Stirling garage on November 1.
Stirling Sheriff Court heard the flanker, who played for Scotland under-18s and now plays for Super6 club Boroughmuir Bears, had been out drinking.
At 2.50am, police spotted a Toyota Yaris with King at the wheel with a deflated front tyre.
Solicitor Ken Dalling, defending, said King, of Helensburgh, Dunbartonshire, had been "on a night out".
He said: "His plan was to sleep in his car and go to work once sober. There was, however, a call from a friend saying he could stay there during the night, and stupidly he drove." Mr Dalling said King's friend lived in Linden Avenue, more than a mile from where King had been parked in Barnton Street in the city centre.
He said King, who earns more than &pound;1500 a month, had already been disciplined by his club and lost two foreign tours as a result.
Mr Dalling added: "His long-term plan had been the fire service, and that might also be scuppered."
