THE Crown star Claire Foy was at "significant risk" from an alleged stalker who repeatedly rang her doorbell and talked about rape in emails, a court has heard.
Jason Penrose, 39, allegedly bombarded the actress with 1000 emails last November and December.
He contacted her agent Emma Jackson, posing as a film director who wanted her to be in his next movie, the court heard.
He also contacted the sister and publicist of the star, 38. In emails to the publicist, Penrose allegedly talked about "Foy being raped and wanting her to be his girlfriend".
Rosa Bennathan, for the Met Police, told the court: "There have clearly been acts that amount to stalking, posing a significant risk to Ms Foy."
An interim stalking protection order (SPO) was granted to Claire and Emma in February and police yesterday applied for a full SPO. Penrose, who gave his address as Highgate Mental Health Centre, was accompanied by NHS workers for the hearing yesterday.
He arrived unrepresented at court and asked for a lawyer. The appointed lawyer, Moira Macfarlane, said his mental health needed to be assessed.
Highbury Corner magistrates heard Penrose of Paddington, west London, suffers from schizoaffective disorder and a delusion disorder. The hearing was adjourned.
