A SWIMMING coach dived in to save an athlete's life after she fainted in a pool - the second time she has had to do so.
Anita Alvarez, 25, sank during a routine at the World Aquatic Championships.

Her coach, four-time Olympic medallist Andrea Fuentes, saw what had happened and shouted to lifeguards at the Budapest pool on Wednesday.
But she said: "They didn't catch what I said or they didn't understand. She wasn't breathing. I went as quickly as I could, as if it were an Olympic final."

Alvarez, left, was given medical attention poolside and stretchered off. Fuentes, 39, said Alvarez's vital signs were all now normal.
She said the swimmer had recovered after breathing in water and may compete again today.

Fuentes added: "Our sport is no different than others, just in a pool. We push through limits and sometimes we find them."
Alvarez previously fainted during an Olympic qualifier in Barcelona last year. Fuentes also rescued her that time.
