CIGS BAN RISK TO SCOTS VAPES LAW

SCOTLAND’S disposable vapes ban could be at risk from Tories warring over Rishi Sunak’s proposed smoking ban in England, it has been claimed.

Ahead of a Westminster vote last night, Scottish Greens health spokeswoman Gillian Mackay warned Tories not to “stand in the way of one of the most important public health interventions in decades”.

The UK-wide single-use vapes ban is part of the PM’s controversial Tobacco and Vapes Bill – which has led to fears the four-nation approach on e-cigs so far could fall apart.

We previously revealed how Scotland, England and Wales are set to outlaw polluting disposable vapes from April 1 next year in a major win for the environment and kids’ health.

The Holyrood government has already published draft regulations to enforce the move from Spring 2025.
