THE King and Queen Consort were nearly hit by eggs hurled by a protester yelling: "This country was built on the blood of slaves."
Patrick Thelwell, 23, was allegedly seen lobbing four eggs which landed near Charles and wife Camilla.
They all missed. Thelwell was bundled to the ground by police officers in York.
Horrified bystanders sided with the royal couple with some shouting "shame on you" and "God save The King".
