BORIS Johnson has defied calls from the SNP to resign over the "drinking and debauchery" at Downing Street lockdown parties detailed in the Sue Gray report.

In a fiery Commons session the SNP's Ian Blackford called for the Prime Minister to either go or be ousted over the Covid rule breaches.

Blackford told the Commons "the report is damning" adding that the Prime Minister, in the words of Sue Gray, must bear responsibility for the boozy lockdown culture.

He added: "A fish rots from the head. The Prime Minister's despatch denial of a party taking place on November 13 is now proven to be untrue.
