£4M LOTTO WINNER IS CLEARED OF ASSAULT ON WOMAN

A LOTTERY winner accused of assaulting his partner was cleared yesterday after prosecutors pulled charges against him.

Barry Chuwen, 54, was alleged to have attacked the woman at her home in Glasgow's Carmyle last October.

Chuwen was said to have pushed her on the ground and wrapped his arms around her body and prevented her from getting away from him.

Chuwen was convicted last year of a separate attack at his plush home in Paisley, against the woman who he seized by the throat and arm and kicked her.

The father-of-three was sentenced to 150 hours' unpaid work, a year's supervision and banned from harassing her for two years.

The former hairdresser scooped £ 4.6 million with then-wife Jenny, 55, in 1997 and blew it on fast cars and property.
