£1M ARMED DRUGS GANG JAILED

A SCOT has been jailed for his part in an international drugs gang which imported £1million of cocaine and cannabis into the UK.

Glaswegian William Brown, 31, who was jailed for 21 years, was described as the gang's most serious offender.

The dad of one appeared in court with Lee Moore, 48, Charles Dodkins, 29, Daniel Snowdon, 42. All were charged with drugs and weapons crimes.

Police arrested Snowdon, Moore and Dodkins on August 9, 2021, after raiding Dodkins' home on Staithes Road in Redcar, Yorkshire.

They found £12,300 of cocaine hidden in a cooker hood, £18,000 of cash stuffed inside a zip-lock bag, cannabis, and a notebook detailing £1million of drug transactions with names and numbers.

Searches also revealed a deactivated handgun, a replica handgun, two self-loading semiautomatic pistols with a silencer and live and blank ammunition which was found in a neighbour's garden.

Texts between the three men and Brown who boasted that he could get hold of huge quantities of drugs from Glasgow and Manchester revealed they were running an international drugs operation.
