150 reports of 'spiking'..but cops find no evidence

THERE is no evidence of spiking by injection in Scotland, police say, despite them receiving almost 150 reports.

Complaints to officers about alleged spiking soared in the last year, with many said to involve people being unwittingly injected in nightclubs.

But a senior officer said the force had been unable to confirm any spiking by injection incidents and there were no physical witnesses to any of the incidents.

Between October 1 last year and October 30 this year 31.3 per cent of people reporting spiking incidents suspected that they had been spiked via injection, equating to about 150 people.
