The Shadow Foreign Secretary retweeted the threat which included "you will hang from a lamppost" after the verdict yesterday.
He said: "Pleased to report a vile racist who sent me this death threat using a pseudonym has been convicted.
"The far right will never silence me." Broadbent, of Leeds, faced the city's magistrates and admitted sending an offensive message.
He got 12 months' jail, suspended for a year, and a restraining order.
