FURIOUS union chiefs yesterday attacked Boris Johnson over his bid to axe 91,000 Civil Service jobs.

The PM wants to slash the workforce by a fifth to save £3.5billion a year, claiming the numbers were only boosted to deal with Brexit and Covid.

But Prospect union general secretary Mike Clancy said: “This represents an outrageous act of vandalism on our public services TUC deputy general secretary Paul Nowak accused Mr. Johnson of "treating the Civil Service with contempt". He added: "Civil servants are key workers who keep this country running.
