THE family of a woman who died days after spending 12 hours on a hospital trolley in a corridor said the A&amp;E department looked like "a scene from a war zone".
Speaking outside a preinquest hearing into the death of Tamara Davis, 31, her mother, Sue, said: "It was absolute carnage. There were 30 people on trolleys waiting for proper treatment&nbsp; and more people on the floor and seats. It was a total mess."
Tamara Davis, 31, was driven to Royal Sussex County Hospital with breathing difficulties in December 2022. A pre-inquest hearing in Brighton was told her partner, Raphael Ifil, called for an ambulance five times, with no luck.
The family said Tamara began to fit so they rushed her into A&amp;E in Brighton on December 10.
She was given oxygen then left on the trolley. Outside the hearing, sister Miya, 25, claimed: "Nobody came to check on her."
Her condition worsened and she went on a ventilator. She died three days later of sepsis and organ failure.
A full inquest was set for June 28.
