THE King got a two-minute standing ovation after his amusing but moving speech at Germany's parliament yesterday.
He had politicians and dignitaries laughing as he spoke of The Beatles, Monty Python and the intense footie rivalry between the nations.
Charles switched between speaking English and fluent German as he became the first British monarch to address Berlin's Bundestag.
And one German journalist remarked on how the King "spoke with great honour".
In a speech lasting over 20 minutes, he hailed the close bond between our nations.
