A MUSLIM pupil has lost her legal challenge against a ban on prayer rituals at "Britain's strictest school".
The girl, who cannot be named, claimed in the High Court that the policy unlawfully breached her right to religious freedom.
She said the ban was "the kind of discrimination which makes religious minorities feel alienated from society".
But Michaela Community School in Wembley, North-West London, argued it was justified after it faced death and bomb threats after a group of pupils began praying on site.
Mr Justice Linden dismissed the&nbsp;girl's arguments, saying: "She knew that the school is secular and her own evidence is that her mother wished her to go there because it was known to be strict.
"She herself says that, long before the prayer ritual policy was introduced, she and her friends believed that prayer was not permitted at school and she therefore made up for missed prayers when she got home." Michaela's founder and head, former Government social mobility tsar Katharine Birbalsingh, said: "A school should be free to do what is right for the pupils it serves. [This] is therefore a victory for all schools."
