AS junior doctors walked out yet again, Rishi Sunak was accused of wasting £1billion on strike cover that could have been spent on pay rises to settle the dispute.
Newly qualified medics, who had taken first NHS roles after medical school on August 2, joined the fifth junior doctors' strike in a battle for what they call full pay restoration.
Refusing fresh pay talks, Health Secretary Steve Barclay insisted 8.8% was a "fair and final offer".
