AT least 19 people were killed and many wounded in one of Russia's most devastating attacks on Ukraine's civilians in months.
Cities including the capital Kyiv were targeted by 23 cruise missiles and two drones early yesterday.
But carnage was worst in the central city of Uman, where at least 14 were killed in a block which was struck twice.
Three children died in the strike.
Another victim was a 75-year-old woman in a neighbouring building.
Police said 17 were wounded and three children were rescued from the rubble. Nine were hospitalised. Halyna, a resident in the block, said she and her husband saw flames near their window.
