DELICIOUS ORIE was brought to tears after he tasted glory in dramatic style last night.
The local hero started slow and was behind after the first round but rallied to romp home and take superheavyweight gold.
Orie, 25, was roared on by a raucous crowd inside a packed NEC venue as they came to see the boxing team’s poster boy finish off in style.
But the Midlander struggled in the opening round as India’s southpaw Sagar Ahlawat got through with some crunching lefts.
Orie found a home for a booming couple of rights (below) in the second that drained the energy from his opponent.
It was all level going into the last, but Orie did not panic as he put the pressure on again to get the better of the rough exchanges and claim a unanimous victory on the cards.
