PRESSURE is growing on striking nurses to back down as an NHS pay deal is on the verge of being agreed with other health unions.
Following months of walk-outs the GMB paramedics' union voted by a 56% majority to accept the proposed 5% pay rise for 2023/24 and a lump sum bonus for last year.
Unison, the biggest NHS union, has already voted to accept, but members of the Royal College of Nursing rejected and are planning further strikes starting on Sunday.
