Burgess back from Oz to make his mark with Huddersfield

LANDING OF THE GIANT

TOM BURGESS knows better than to predict huge things for Huddersfield - but he is sure he can make a positive difference.

The hulking England prop is the Giants' big marquee signing for next season after arriving from South Sydney on a three-year contract.

The deal was announced back in February, when the West Yorkshire club was hoping to take Super League by storm.

But they endured a miserable campaign, winning just 10 games and missing out on the play-offs for a second year running. Boss Ian Watson was sacked in July.

Burgess, who flew back to the UK last month for the England v Samoa series, visited John Smith's Stadium this week to get acquainted with his new surroundings.
