Infected blood: Kids used as guinea pigs

SECRET medical trials using infected blood products on children in the 1970s and 1980s have been revealed.

Documents obtained by BBC News suggest youngsters with blood clotting disorders were used as guinea pigs, often without their families' consent.

The majority of the children in the tests, which went on for more than 15 years, are now dead.

They involved hundreds of people, and left most infected with Hepatitis C and HIV.
