WITHIN moments of stepping into the witness box yesterday, Ryan Giggs admitted he had never been faithful during any of his past relationships with women.

The ex-Manchester United footballer, seeking to clear his name over assault and coercion charges, said he is a flirt who found it impossible to resist attention from the opposite sex.

Giggs, 48, denies headbutting his ex-girlfriend Kate Greville, 38, and assaulting her sister Emma, 26. He also denies using controlling and coercive behaviour towards Kate.

Giggs’ barrister Chris Daw QC said the former Welsh international winger was well known all over the world for his “ability and career as a footballer”.

Mr Daw told the defendant: “But you are also known for something else, you have a reputation for infidelity... a love cheat.”

Giggs replied: “Yes.”

Mr Daw said: “Is that justified?”

Giggs replied: “Yes.”
