SHOP staff cracked up after their boss ordered 720 Easter eggs to an island with just 500 inhabitants.
Dan Dafydd said he intended to order just 80 individual chocolate treats but mistakenly asked for 80 cases.
He said: "I was doing our Easter egg order and looking at doing 80. But when it arrived in store it turned out I'd ordered 80 cases, meaning I had 720.
"The staff were chuckling, finding it very entertaining." Charitable Dan, who runs Sinclair General Stores on the Orkney island of Sanday, has now decided to raffle off the excess eggs in aid of the RNLI.
He said "I don't think conventional means is going to get rid of them. We've been thinking outside the 355 box a little bit.
"We're a small island surrounded by sea, lots of people have died from boatrelated incidents.
"So it just made sense to use RNLI."
An RNLI spokesman said: "We are egg-stremely grateful for this generous gesture."
