BOY George's mother has spoken of her love for her son and says she is not surprised he almost quit I'm A Celebrity in her honour.
After disgraced former Health Secretary Matt Hancock arrived in the jungle, viewers saw the singer, 61, in tears as he told how mum Dinah O'Dowd almost died during the pandemic.
Yesterday she said: "I'm so very proud of him. He is always there for me, so his reaction wasn't a surprise." George was furious at Hancock, 44.
The Tory was caught defying lockdown by kissing an aide and is blamed for spreading the virus by moving the elderly from hospitals to care homes.
But the singer now appears to have decided to stay in camp after being talked round by Corrie star Sue Cleaver.
Speaking in the Bush Telegraph he said: "I don't really know if I want to be here. But Sue told him later: "I think you have to sleep on it." He and Dinah, 83, have always been close. When she was in hospital for "heart or lung" issues unrelated to the virus, he tweeted: "They have said they won't resuscitate her if things go wrong.
How can they know? Please pray!" Yesterday friends predicted he would soon be criticising Hancock to his face.
