RYAN GIGGS TRIAL: EX TELLS OF ATTACK AFTER AFFAIRS ROW
RYAN Giggs launched a vicious attack on girlfriend Kate Greville after she decided to leave him over his alleged cheating, a court heard yesterday.
Jurors were told that the former Manchester United star had flings with eight women during the couple’s six-year relationship.
In tearful testimony from the witness box, Kate said: “He looked me straight in the eye and headbutted me in the face.”
The 38-year-old recalled how she confronted Giggs, who is accused of assaulting and controlling her, on a night out about his infidelity.
She went back to his home and with her sister Emma, 26, who had been looking after their dog, began packing up her belongings in bin bags.
Giggs, 48, arrived soon after and he and Kate ended up on the floor as he tussled with her over her phone.
The former Welsh international then told her he had called the police.
Speaking from behind a curtain where she could not be seen by Giggs sitting in the dock, Kate said: “I said to him, ‘I’m glad the police are coming because you attacked me and I’ll tell them what happened.’
“And that is when he came towards me and headbutted me in the face.
“There was no warning. He came at me from nowhere and grabbed me by the shoulders and headbutted me in the face. I said, ‘I can’t believe you just did that.’ I was in shock. I fell backwards. My lip instantly swelled. I could feel it straight away.
