Harry loses cop protection fight

PRINCE Harry has lost his High Court fight for the right to pay for police protection while in the UK.

Harry, 38, and wife Meghan Markle, 41, lost tax-funded police guards after stepping down as working royals in 2020 when they moved to California.

Yesterday judge Mr Justice Chamberlain refused the Duke of Sussex a judicial review into whether the Government exceeded its authority by stopping him "renting" officers.

A lawyer for the Home Office argued that hiring police as private bodyguards for the wealthy should not be allowed.

A separate legal effort is ongoing to review the original decision to strip him of taxpayerfunded protection.
