Groceries on delivery app can be Uber pricey

FOOD and drink ordered via delivery apps can cost twice as much than if you buy direct, a study has shown.

Consumer watchdog Which? compared the price of 15 popular grocery items at five major supermarkets with what you would pay if you ordered via apps such as Uber Eats, Deliveroo and Just Eat.

Almost all of the items were either more expensive on the delivery apps or the same price.

The basket of goods would cost £36.63 at Iceland but if you opted to have the same items delivered by Just Eat, it would set you back £50.50, plus a delivery fee.
