City starlet determined to fight for run of games after a 'tough' season

COLE PALMER admits he has been treading water at Manchester City this season, but he is fighting hard not to "drown".

The young forward bagged his first goal of the season (right) in the 6-0 FA Cup romp against Burnley before the international break.

And Palmer, 20, will go to the Under-21 Euros with England this summer as one of the Young Lions' brightest prospects.

But in a frank assessment of his campaign at club level, he admitted: "The season has been tough, I'm not going to lie. I've got to keep pushing and keep working to get a run of goal winger Riyad Mahrez for games advice.
