33 GRENFELL COPS SUE FOR DAMAGES

MORE than 30 police officers from the Grenfell Tower fire rescue are claiming compensation for mental trauma.

PC Martin Hart is the lead claimant of 33 officers suing top brass including the Met commissioner, chief of the London Fire Brigade and Kensington and Chelsea council for personal injury and loss of earnings.

It is believed Hart was among 23 officers who were to the first arrive at the fire on June 14, 2017, which claimed 72 lives.

Ten others said they were traumatised searching the burnt-out building after the inferno. PC Hart tried to save the life of a man who had jumped from the tower.
