CELEBRITIES have called for more welfare within the music industry after the death of former One Direction star Liam Payne.

Radio presenter Jo Whiley, 59, called for an end to "cruel" reality TV shows like The X Factor.

She described a feeling of sadness within the industry after the loss of Liam, 31, saying: "We all felt we'd let him down.

"We should always have been looking after the mental health of the musicians." Speaking about shows like The X Factor, Jo feels they put "too much" pressure on people.
