JUSTICE Secretary Brandon Lewis yesterday urged striking barristers to consider a £50million funding boost to end their industrial action.

Striking barristers to vote on new £50m funding deal

Criminal barristers in England and Wales are taking part in an all-out strike in a row over fees and conditions.

The Ministry of Justice said a 15 percent increase in legal aid would cover the vast majority of almost 60,000 cases waiting to be heard.

Previously, the offer only covered new hearings, prompting fury from barristers already facing a huge backlog.
