Stab case father's 'unlucky' claims
Daily Express|January 18, 2025
A FATHER who claims his daughter died after he accidentally threw a knife at her during a kitchen "play-fight" told police he "must be the unluckiest man in the world", a court heard.
Katie Dickinson

Simon Vickers, 50, denies both the murder and the manslaughter of Scarlett, 14, in Darlington, Co Durham, on July 5 last year.

Teesside Crown Court heard she was stabbed through the heart, and prosecutors allege the 11cm (4in) wound was too deep to have been caused accidentally.

Jurors yesterday heard a video-recorded police interview with Vickers. He said he must have picked a knife up when he threw some tongs.
