The twisted pair "robbed their victims' childhood" when youngsters were left so hungry they walked for miles at 4am to scavenge through supermarket bins.

In one sickening incident, they dangled a child over the side of a motorway bridge.
Children were also hit with belts, made to take boiling showers and firced to stay for hours in stress positions.
When the alarm was first raised, Hadwin, 39, and Pickles, 35, forged letters, pretending they were written by the children.
